Each year, the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department hosts the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) for high school students in the Rio Grande Valley section of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Every March, students compete in a written exam and practical lab exercises for prizes and a chance to compete in the National and International USNCO competitions. The event requires lots of student volunteers to function and is a great opportunity to do some outreach! Check out our website for more details.
